The Adjunct Project at the CUNY Graduate Center has put together a resources for CUNY Equity Week that includes data on university funding, faculty and staff salaries, and CUNY as an edu-factory. This poster gives a quick overview of inequalities and the adjunctification of the university.

I’ve been waiting to do a site like this for so long. The first post is time-sensitive, so I thought I’d start adding content and fill out the edges of the site later: theme, about, links, etc.

The basic idea is simple: Visual displays make information approachable. Often, they bring out larger patterns that we miss by observing only details. Sometimes, they’re the only way to make information salient for human beings. Other times, they’re just plain pretty.

DailyViz is intended to be mix of all of these. Each day, I’ll highlight a visualization that’s useful, unique, or artistic. Contributions and contributors are welcome; comments are hoped for.
